Leaving Bribie Island at 5.45am this morning in heavy rain was not inspiring the golfers heading north to Beerwah. Through to the highway, it never stopped, up to Steve Irwin Way the rain just kept falling, then as if someone had turned the tap off, it turned to a drizzle as we approached Beerwah and at 6.45 the small group of intrepid golfers stood outside the pro shop deciding on whether to play or not, it stopped.

The  Captain made the decision to cancel the 4BBB Self Selected Pairs and settle for a Single Stableford game and 13 golfers who said 'let's play" headed for the 1st Tee, just hoping they had made the right decision, and what a choice it turned out to be. The skies cleared and the white clouds replaced the grey ones, and by the time we were on the 4th tee blue skies appeared above us. Yes the course was very wet and cart restrictions were in place, cart path only which did mean a fair bit of walking to your ball.

Mark Larsen who appears to flourish in these conditions put on a show and was the only player to lose shots for beating his handicap, and another for winning on the day. NTP's were shared by 2 players unfortunately our 2 valiant ladies attending could not find any of the Par 3's on this day.

The abandoned Self Selected Pairs will be played at a later date.
